THE SEPTEMBER ISSUE, NO. 13

FOR THE PAST FEW YEARS, a steady stream of creatives have been relocating to the Catskills and Hudson Valley. Designers, editors, and influencers—many from the fashion industry—have quietly left the city and made their way here. They’ve traded “expensive” for “expansive”— abandoning cramped city apartments and unaffordable loft studios for country cottages and small town storefronts. This September Issue is one of exploration. Through conversations with Helena Christensen and Camilla Staerk on creative collaboration in nature, Kai Kuhne and John Mollet on finding a place to escape the pressure and reconnect, and Nicholas and Christopher Kunz’s creative reawakening, we look at the look at the impact of fresh perspective. What spurred Inez Valk to leave Brooklyn and open a farm-to-table pizza spot in Bloomville? How is Ashley Ruprecht’s family using the land in Holmes to forge a new version of their future? Join us for an issue that explores the answers and asks new questions about how and why fashion creatives are leaving their old ways of life behind.
