the food issue, no. 7

I thought a lot about what food means while producing this issue. It occurred to me that it can mean anything and is everything. It’s universal. It’s powerful. Food connects us, nurtures us and gives us hope. It creates memories that remain with us forever, allowing us to travel back in time and molding us to become who we are today. Food can help rebuild communities, reinforce our dreams and even lead us to our spiritual calling. We often take food for granted, losing sight of its source or the person making it. So I hope that this issue illuminates its significance and brings to light the many inspiring people behind the burgeoning food scene happening right now upstate and in the surrounding areas.
